I ordered the water director along with the media basket. Since I was basing my opinions off their youtube installation video, I didn't have much to go on. But, after seeing the difference in flow versus the old tray(which has a lip), this definitely allows for more water to pass through the media basket and also helps stop the waterfall/drippy sound in the tank. If you own a nano, this director along with the media basket are must haves for your system!
